In other words, Microsoft says to run the WMI Diagnosis Utility instead and follow its recommendations to fix any problems. There are specific reasons why Microsoft says this. It didn't fix anything and rebuilding the repository on the fly which is what the commands do with fingers crossed that it will be ok runs the risk of having something happen similar to what happened to me WMI Diagnosis Utility reporting a long list of ERRORS which is why Microsoft warns against repair on the fly like that.

Just live with Security Center reporting that McAffee is installed or Advisor listing a bunch of instances of the same antivirus installation. Or turn off Security Center and don't use Advisor. That is what I wish I had done stop using Advisor or live with all the instances listed and I have never used Security Center as following the advice of WMI Diagnosis Utility and trying to manually compile MOF files is not something a lowly user like myself finds easy to do.

I don't recall saying that Auggy has not been a huge help to many here including myself. Where did I say that? Where did you get the idea that my question was some sort of "macho" "challenge"? So, the O. Seems to have worked out pretty well. Then your experience was quite obviously different from the O. And if you try again tomorrow, you may have even yet another different experience-- who knows? Razzy2 didn't say you were a "little lowly user", he said you were "the n00b".

I wouldn't worry too much about it, though. Given what I've seen him post over the course of time, he could probably make pretty fair claim to that title himself. Might as well toss me in there, too. The fun part about being a n00b is there's always something new and interesting to learn!

Choppy post! Razzy2 to Mele20 Member Jul am to Mele20 Hi n00b, Looks like OP couldn't fix it with that vbs utility you posted but fixed it with the commands. Mele20 Premium Member Jul am Possibly fixed.

Razzy2 Member Jul pm yea yea yea whatever. Where did I say I didn't know how to use it? I said it didn't do anything meaning it didn't detect any problems. It didn't help. I wouldn't say my problem with the Security Center virus detection was very minor.

I couldn't install any anti-virus software. I rebooted after the rebuild and the machine seemed fine. I then proceeded to install AVG, which installed without issue and prompted for a reboot. Sign in to vote. Hi, I am having an issue with the SBS Console showing "not available" on the security status for 4 workstations out of I have disabled the firewall. Reinstalled both the server and workstation of the trend software. Reset the WMI repository. The trend console itself can see all the workstations fine and report them online and updated.
